Melissa lives in Sydney, NS where Splinter Sisters headquarters is located. She oversees the day to day operations of the company but her true passion is woodworking. Although Melissa loves working with clients to design the perfect piece for their space and budget, you will find her covered in saw dust most days of the week!
This is Wendy, she was co-founder of Splinter Sisters, but has since resigned to focus on her family life. You can still find some of her acrylic paintings in our shop!
We design and create custom art, furniture & decor, while incorporating reclaimed materials, and recycling when possible. We love rustic, primitive, coastal and farmhouse styles but also really enjoy working with more modern styles like live edge slabs, industrial metal/wood, and unique glass pieces. Every piece is unique, given that there may be variations with the wood and they are handmade to order. Did we mention that we LOVE custom orders?!
We are always looking for more awesome people to join our team.

We have some exciting news to share with our amazing clients: we have officially moved into a new commercial space! We will be constructing a brand new showroom/storefront to go along with our workshop so we will be able to sit down with our clients and help you design the perfect pieces! Thank you to each and everyone of you who has supported us so far and for sticking it out with us. What was once a part time crafting hobby, has quickly turned into a thriving business, with several employees, servicing clients across not only Nova Scotia, but all of Canada. The new shop is located at 344 Keltic Drive but is not ready for visitors just yet! We are working out of there and hoping to have the showroom/studio set up early in the new year, so stay tuned!
